The Brink of Insanity

The idea of "selling out" by finding out how to utilize your hobby/interests to make money is propoganda perpetuated by a culture of people who are afraid of the idea of somebody living their dream when they feel like they don't have the ability to do it themselves.

The majority of supposed anti-conformist artists simply want to perpetuate the idea that they themselves rejected the system when in reality, the system never wanted them in the first place. They reject you. They reject your vision. At most, they'll accept pieces of what you want to create but ultimately want to fashion it into their own image. So what is it gonna take to separate you from all the others? To make you stand out before you fade away with the rest of the numbers?

Wait, sorry. That's a joke for a later time. Point is: don't sign with big-wig companies because they're only going to use and abuse you, but if you can figure out a way to do it independently you should. Regardless of how successful you COULD be. How much money do you really need? Just enough to survive, technically.

But Sarah! What about my future children?

Blow them into a napkin.
